There is striking evidence of regional consensus over forming a Lebanese national unity government after deliberate obstruction that lasted for five months and an international agreement to implicitly accept a Lebanese government that includes Hezbollah with a seat at the UN Security Council. Regional and international messages exchanged through the Lebanese arena are reassuring for the Lebanese and for the region, at least for now. Also reassuring is what the Saad Hariri Government claims by defining itself as “the government of achievements”, signifying that it will focus on the economy, reform, job-creation and privatization, considering that consensus and rapprochement, especially between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Syria, provides a good window of opportunity for political stability that would be characterized by giving priority to the economy. All of this represents an opportunity for Hezbollah to position itself locally, regionally and internationally as a Lebanese political party that has its place and its standing, and to shake off its reputation as the third corner in what is referred to as the “Emirate Triangle”, the common denominator being the fact that they receive rockets from Iran, as well as its enmity towards the United States and the countries of Arab moderation. Its enmity towards Israel is natural as long as there is no peace between Lebanon and Israel, but rather a state of war, since officially the conflict between the two still stands. Nevertheless, it is not in Hezbollah’s interest to be part of a “triangle” or to form what is described as the “South Lebanon Emirate”, alongside the “Gaza Emirate” under Hamas’s supervision or the “Saada Emirate” under the Houthis in Yemen. The South’s inhabitants may want to lend moral and material support to help the Palestinians get rid of the Israeli occupation, but they most probably do not want to be party to the wars of the Houthis or of Al-Qaeda in Yemen. I thought UFC 105 live fight is scheduled next week. I just read an email from my friend that Couture vs Vera fight is scheduled the same day with Pacquiao vs Cotto fight. They just differ in scheduled time. Pacquiao-Cotto fight is scheduled at 10 ET while Couture vs Vera live fight is scheduled at 3PM.

Thank goodness that Couture vs Vera free video replay is available on SPIKE at eight in the evening. For the live updates, see this page - UFC 105 results.

Manny Pacquiao from the Philippines is his way to break the record of boxing history as he aim for the seventh world title in seven weight classes. It's Pacquiao vs Cotto this Saturday!

As far as I know, only Pacquiao and De La Hoya are the only boxers who got six world titles in six weight classes. But De La Hoya will no longer be able to beat his own record because he have already resigned.

Pacquiao is still young and the road to greatness is still wide open for him.

Let's talk about Miguel Angel Cotto. Did you know that Cotto did not actually take up boxing to become his career? Yes... He just try boxing because he wanted to lose weight. He just follow the path of his two older brothers. To his surprise, boxing make him lose weight. And that's the time he developed a fashion for this sport. He was then trained at Bairoa Gym and follow the steps of his his older brother Jose Miguel Cotto.

If you'll compare him to Pacquiao, Pacquiao treated boxing as his hobby. Even though he doesn't have shoes or just one rubber shoe, he was so addicted in this sports. He was always been advised by his mother to study and not to be link in that sports. During those days, his mother believed that boxing will not make them rich but the young Manny cannot get rid of this because he really love it. Then the time came when he enter the real world of boxing, from an amateur to professional boxer, you can really see not only his passion in this sports but also the unbelievable power he has. Can he be able to be the first ever boxer to get the seventh title in seven different divisions?

Serendipity, yet again… Jonathan’s latest Blasphemous Geometries column on the moral dimension of modern computer game mechanics arrived in my inbox last weekend, and hence (unless he has contacts in the industry of which I am unaware), he’d have had no idea that this week would see a firestorm of controversy over a certain level in the newly released Modern Warfare 2 game. The level in question requires your character to inflitrate a terrorist group and, so as to maintain your cover story, participate in the shooting of innocent civilians; MetaFilter has a good round up of reviews and opinion pieces on the game, and the comment thread is full of interesting responses from both sides of the fence.
